Abstract: This is the report of the national consultation organized by the Ministry of Agriculture of Guyana, in collaboration with FAO and the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM), held in Georgetown, Guyana, on 18 September 2012. The report contains a summary of the discussions held during the national consultation, the results of a scoping exercise that was carried out by the participants, the baseline report that was discussed and agreed upon by the stakeholders, as well as the results of the preliminary meetings that were held prior to the national consultation.

Abstract: Case Study On Shared Stocks Of The Shrimp And Groundfish Fishery Of The Guianas-Brazil Shelf. Regional training workshop on facilitation, Port of Spain, 11-15 July 2011. The training workshop was led by the Caribbean Natural Resources Institute (CANARI); it was attended by representatives from Brazil, Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, FAO, the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM) and the Centre for Resource Management and Environmental Studies (CERMES). The workshop was designed to be participatory and interactive and to maximize opportunities for peer learning.

CLME+ Initiatives Highlighted at the UN Ocean Conference

The 10-year Strategic Action Programme (SAP) for the CLME+ region, the 5 year UNDP/GEF CLME+ Project and the forthcoming establishment of a global “CLME+ Alliance & Partnership” for the sustainable management, use and protection of marine resources” were among the different CLME+ initiatives highlighted by the Project Coordination Unit (PCU) and Project Partners at the recently concluded UN Ocean Conference in New York (5-9 June 2017).

Meeting of the Regional Working Group on IUU Fishing

March 06, 2017 – The first Meeting of the CRFM/OSPESCA/WECAFC-FAO Regional Working Group on Illegal Unreported and Unregulated Fishing (RWG IUU) was held 1-2 March 2017 at the UN House in Barbados.  The RWG IUU was established at the 15th Session of WECAFC which took place in 2014 in Trinidad and Tobago. Meeting of Interim Coordination Mechanism for Sustainable Fisheries
