CLME+ region taking a lead on regional integration amongst fisheries and environmental agencies

Eight Inter-Governmental Organizations (IGO’s): UN Environment Caribbean Environment Programme (UN Environment CEP); Western Central Atlantic Fisheries Commission of the UN Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO-WECAFC); Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC/IOCARIBE) of UNESCO; Caribbean Community (CARICOM) Secretariat; Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism (CRFM); Central American Commission for Environment and Development (CCAD); Organisation of the Central American Fisheries and Aquaculture Sector (OSPESCA); and the Commission of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) met from 25-26 May in Miami in a meeting facilitated by the CLME+ Project.

Central “CLME+” Web Portal launched on World Ocean Day

The “CLME+ Hub” was pre-launched on World Ocean Day on June 9th 2017. The Hub is accessible via the URL www.clmeplus.org, and will support the mobilisation and progressive expansion of the global “CLME+ Alliance and Partnership” for the sustainable management and use of marine resources in the CLME+ region.

ECOLANGOSTA+ Regional workshop for the traceability of fishery products

June 6, 2017 – In San Salvador, El Salvador, from June 5 to 8, 2017, the Regional Workshop for the Elaboration of the Regional Standard of Traceability of Fishery Products is carried out, with the aim of harmonize and agree the procedures and design of a Regional Traceability Standard applied to fishery products to be subsequently submitted to the competent authorities for its approval and implementation.

Latest endorsement of the CLME+ SAP

IOCARIBE 35th Anniversary, International Marine Science Conference

May 5, 2017 – The International Marine Science Conference, organized by the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO and hosted by the Colombian Ocean Commission, took place in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia on April 24th and 25th, 2017.  This event was organized to celebrate the 35th anniversary of IOCaribe, the regional Sub-Commission of IOC-UNESCO covering the Caribbean and Adjacent Regions.
